The General Secretariat of the Synod recently rereleased the Instrumentum Laboris for the first session of the 16th Ordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops. The working document, which is derived from the material collected during the phase of listening to the People of God, is to be seen as a tool for discernment.

Instrumentum Laboris can be found in its entirety, on the Vatican website.

In a statement on their website, the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops (CCCB) said that they welcomed the document and urged all Catholics to, “pray for the success of the Synod, which will commence this October, that by listening to the voice of the Holy Spirit the followers of Christ would be led to glorify the Father of us all.”

More information on this important document as well as reaction from Catholic Bishops from around the world can be found here.
